How to treatment and overcome asthma attack

1 comment:
When asthma attack, the airways in the lungs become inflamed and obstructed by mucus. This makes difficult for the patient to breathe. When the chest starts to feel tight, the lungs make a wheezing sound. There are many things that can trigger asthma attacks such as air pollution, emotions, or other asthma triggers such as dust, cigarette smoke, and others.

Asthma can be treated in many ways

1. Using conventional medicines and therapies

2. Using alternative medicines such as herbs or other traditional medicines

3. By using alternative therapies such as Yoga, Acupuncture, etc…

Every type of therapy has its own scope and time span. The first and the most widely accepted therapy is the conventional medicines and procedures. In this procedure of asthma treatment, the patient is treated in two ways

1. Short term treatment

2. Long term treatment

Short term asthma treatment involves the instant relief of the patient from asthma attacks. Short term treatment involves the administration of inhalers and orally administered drugs. Asthma cannot be cured, but the scope of asthma can be controlled with the help of a proper asthma management program.

Short term treatment is done mainly by using Metered Dose Inhalers or MDIs. Dry powder inhalers are also gaining favor in the treatment of asthma.

For those patients who cannot use the MDI’s, nebulizer therapy is used.

Long term asthma treatment involves more of Parallel treatment and lesser use of drugs.

In parallel asthma treatment, environmental components and surrounding analysis is done to minimize the factors that lead to Asthma attacks. In this type of treatment environment components such as pollen grains, allergens etc are minimized from the patient’s surroundings to minimize the chances of an asthma attack.

For this it is necessary that the patient’s place of residence be cleaned every week, the patient must be kept away from pets with fur or feather, weekly washing of the bedding of the patient in hot water.

Avoid using synthetic material in the patient’s bedding, replace upholstery based furniture to vinyl or leather ones.

Remove carpeted floors. They may contain dust particles that could cause problems to the asthma patient.

Use the Air conditioner to protect the patient from subtle temperature changes.

Keep the house dry. Humidity effects the asthma patient.

After the parallel asthma treatment is completed, lung functioning is monitored to look for effective changes. After this, medicines like corticosteroids and bronchodilators are administered. Periodic check up is necessary to know about any changes in the condition of the patient.

Here are some ways you can do to overcome an asthma attack when you can't use an inhaler

1. Sit up straight
When the chest starts to feel tight, stop doing whatever you are doing and sit up straight. If the body curves down or lies down, breathing will be increasingly blocked and asthma will get worse.

2. Breathe long
Taking a deep breath slowly will make the breathing process slow and prevent asthma attacks from getting worse. Inhale through the nose and exhale through the mouth.

3. Do not panic.
The most important thing when a patient feels an asthma attack is not to panic and stay calm. Panicking will only make the chest muscles become tighter and make the patient more difficult to breathe.

4. Avoid asthma triggers
Every asthma patient should already know what can trigger an asthma attack on them. There are asthma when exposed to dust and others. Whatever it is, immediately move away from things that can cause asthma. especially if breathing starts to feel uncomfortable

5. Seek help.
If asthma attack, coughing and wheezing still occur when you are resting, just try not to panic, get help immediately or call an ambulance.

6. Get warm drinks.
Some warm drinks like tea can make the airways open slightly, so they can provide comfort and help the patient breathe for at least an hour or more.

Asthma is not a disease that heals immediately after treatment. Patients must continue to take medication even though they have never had an asthma attack. If asthma attacks occur frequently, it means that the patient is not really maintaining good health. You may need a more suitable medicine or start paying attention to your lifestyle.

What Is Hypno Psychotherapy

No comments:
Hypnosis describes a range of naturally occurring states of altered awareness (or trance). These hypnotic states range from momentary distractions through enhanced relaxation, to very deep states of inward focus and awareness.

Hypnosis is a very effective method of treatment. It is a state of altered consciousness with increased and heightened awareness, which is often accompanied by deep relaxation; this in itself can be beneficial. Contrary to popular belief it does not involve becoming unconscious and has nothing to do with sleep.

Hypnosis cannot be forced upon people, but it is a state which people allow themselves to enter. It is important to understand that, during hypnosis, people cannot be forced to do things that they would choose not to do. Hypnosis or “trance” as it is often referred to is similar to the experience of day dreaming, when you lose a sense of time and may without thought continue a task that routinely requires concentration, such as driving from one place to another but not actually remembering the journey. This is an example of an altered state of consciousness that we experience every day of our lives.

Psychology is the study of human behaviour. It seeks to look at the motivational drives within an individual and offer an explanation to the behaviour that is demonstrated.

Psychotherapy is the use and application of psychological knowledge to help people understand themselves and begin to make appropriate changes, or to be comfortable with who they are.

Psychotherapy has several different theoretical models that have developed over time, the most commonly known being psycho-analysis. The therapy that I practise uses some of the best ideas from these differing schools of thought in order to help people achieve not only a rapid rate of improvement but also a lasting one. It has its basis in a cognitive-analytical model that seeks to look at the process behind thought, and understand how it has developed, and of course how to change negative thought processes into positive ones.

What is Hypno-psychotherapy?

Hypno-psychotherapy is the practice of psychotherapy with applied hypnosis being the primary approach. The United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy, the lead body for the provision of Psychotherapy in the United Kingdom, recognises the practice of hypno-psychotherapy.

Hypno-psychotherapy can be used to change a person's behaviour, attitudes and emotion. It can be used to help manage pain, anxiety, and stress-related health concerns, as well as helping overcome unwanted habits and improving confidence.

Both hypnotherapy and hypno-psychotherapy utilise hypnosis in a therapeutic form, however an individual that only practises as a hypnotherapist may not have undertaken training in psychotherapeutic theory and practice.

For therapists to be able to register with United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy requires an extensive programme of 4 years training.

Short courses of study that are readily available may give an insight into the techniques and practice of hypnosis, but they do not in themselves enable the practitioner to be able to address all forms of presenting problems.

It is strongly advised that anyone seeking any form of therapy investigates the qualifications and registrations of the practitioners they approach for treatment.

A United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy registered therapist will always provide information relating to their qualifications and registrations if requested.

the way to get rid of cellulite easily and quickly

No comments:
Easyis a skin condition that gives the appearance of small bumps and ripples under the skin. The bumps are caused by the underlying fat cells growing too large and stretching the natural fiber compartments that hold the skin to the underlying layers of tissues.

Only a few men have cellulite while 80-90 percent of women have cellulite. Cellulite is often seen in the calves, thighs, arms, stomach or chest. Its existence is difficult to tolerate. Women tend to have cellulite more often than men because they have a vertical pattern of collagen in the underlying layer that holds the fat cells, and when the fat cells become very large, they bulge out of the chambers and appear as cellulite.

In men, the pattern of collagen is tighter, in a diagonal pattern, and they have thicker skin, so there is less bulging of the individual fat cells. Another factor in cellulite is high levels of estrogen, since this hormone has a direct effect on the holding capacity of fat cells through the increase of alpha-adrenoreceptors, the chemical doorways that tell your fat cells to hold on to their contents. Poor diet, bad circulation, and poor lymphatic circulation can all contribute to the appearance of cellulite.

There are several extra steps you can take for the treatment of cellulite.

Nutrition: Although cellulite is a skin condition, it’s closely tied to the storage of excess fat. If you are significantly overweight, you should certainly alter your diet. The dietary enzyme bromelain can improve overall circulation to your skin and adipose tissues by removing the buildup of fibrin on the walls of blood vessels. Treating cellulite requires a two-pronged approach – one being the shrinking of the fat cells themselves, the second being the regeneration of collagen and strengthening of the skin outside of the swollen fat cells.

Cleansing: When cleaning your skin, use your wash cloth or loufah to massage the area where cellulite occurs. At first, use a circular motion and then a brushing motion upwards towards the bowels. This will improve circulation and edema, and help remove toxins and metabolic wastes out of the tissues and interstitial spaces around the collagen and fat cells.

Dry Skin Brushing: Learn to dry brush your skin at least twice every day – upon rising and before going to bed. Skin brushing provides many benefits in the treatment of cellulite. First of all, it’s “exercise” for you skin, and strengthens the underlying dermis and pattern of collagen in the subcutaneous layer. It stimulates the growth and repair of the tissues by increasing blood flow to the area. It also helps remove toxins and metabolic wastes out of the interstitial fluids surrounding the tissues for disposal. Dry brushing is good for you skin all over, but if you are suffering from spider or varicose veins, brushing these areas vigorously several times every day, first in a circular motion and then upwards towards the colon, can improve the appearance of cellulite.

Massage: Massage, particularly the kind that improves lymph flow, is very good for reducing the appearance of cellulite. It improves the removal of metabolic wastes and toxins from the interstitial tissues around the adipose tissues, and gives the skin a smoother appearance. There are many professionals offering massage for cellulite, including lymphatic massage and endermology, but if that is out of your budget, you may want to try a home massage device. Many are available, from a simple round-prong hand tool to a powered massager that provides heat, massage and suction similar to the professional endermology machines.

Habits: Get out of the habit of crossing your legs, knees and ankles. This reduces circulation and increases swelling. Try to keep moving regularly, neither sitting nor standing for long periods.

Exercise regularly : exercising regularly burns calories and reduces fat, but also increases circulation and can help disguise cellulite by increasing muscles under the skin. Exercise helps to tighten the skin and also reduc the appearance of small bumps and ripples under the skin

Drink Green Tea : Green tea contains powerful antioxidants which also help you lose weight. Drinking green tea can help maintain your appearance and can be a way to get rid of cellulite naturally and easily.

That's the way to get rid of cellulite easily and quickly. Make efforts that can make blood circulation more smoothly, avoid unhealthy foods and choose those that are rich in antioxidants.

Wha is Acne vulgaris ?

No comments:
Acne vulgaris is a common disorder affecting the skin. It particularly involves the pilosebaceous unit, consisting of the hair follicle and sebaceous gland. The cause is multifactorial and the four major causal components are proliferation of the bacteria Propionibacterium acnes, abnormal shedding of the cells lining the pores, androgen-induced sebum production, and inflammation.
Photo : forcaremed.com/clinical-research/conditions/acne-vulgaris/

Acne vulgaris  largely affects teenagers but is not confined to this age group. The graze types in acne are separated into two major groups, inflammatory and noninflammatory. Noninflammatory lesions include open and closed comedones, also known as whiteheads and blackheads, respectively. Inflammatory lesions are more prominent, appearing as red papules, pustules, or, the most severe, cysts. Acne predominates in areas rich in sebaceous glands such as the face, chest, and upper back. Although acne does not constitute a life-threatening condition, multiple studies have demonstrated that the psychosocial ramifications of this highly visible condition occurring during the formative teenage years can seriously
impact self-esteem and quality of life.

Multiple categories of drugs have proven efficacy in the treatment of acne vulgaris. Awareness of the multifactorial pathogenesis of acne has facilitated the rational application of combination therapies with different mechanisms of action. Milder cases of acne are generally treated with topical products including benzoyl peroxide, antibiotics, and vitamin A derivatives. The side effects of topical products are generally limited to local irritation or drying of the skin. In more severe cases, systemic antibiotics are used in combination with the topical agents. The most commonly prescribed systemic antibiotics are in the tetracycline class including tetracycline, doxycycline, or minocycline. An increasing prevalence of  Propionibacterium acnes resistance to the usual antibiotics used to treat acne is being seen, and the treatment period should be kept as brief as possible for this reason. For the most severe cases of acne, a systemic retinoid, isotretinoin, may be prescribed. All of the systemic drugs are associated with various side effects necessitating proper patient selection and counseling before starting the medication and careful monitoring during the treatment course.

Adult female acne is extensively influenced by the effect of androgens on the pilosebaceous unit. An index of suspicion for over production of androgens from the adrenal glands or ovaries must be considered, but in the majority of patients hormone levels are normal and there appears to be a peripheral alteration whereby the sebaceous gland is more sensitive to normal circulating androgen levels. Acne in this population is particularly challenging to treat because it tends not to respond to the traditional therapies employed in teenage patients. Efficacious treatments such as oral contraceptives, some of which are now approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of acne, and antiandrogens, none of which are approved for this indication, alter the hormonal milieu of the
pilosebaceous unit.

The most important aspect of acne treatment is patient compliance with medications. Contrary to popular belief, particular foods are not implicated in the development of acne. However, the Western diet, high in sugar and refined carbohydrates, may have an adverse effect on acne. Poor hygiene is also not a significant factor in acne and, in fact, overzealous cleansing can worsen the irritation. In most cases, the acne is self-limited peaking in severity during the teenage years and eventually remitting. The presence or absence of acne in teenage girls is not predictive of who will go on to develop the adult female variety. Early and appropriate treatment will reduce the likelihood of long-term scarring as will avoidance of manipulating the lesions.
